Introduction
We as starseeds and lightworkers are in the process of creating a new vocabulary of terms that have arisen immediately before or after First Contact.
I’d like to recognize those thinkers who bring new understanding to us. Oftentimes things that did not have a place in our minds first enter our awareness when someone bestows a name on them. Often too something that was simply amorphous before assumes a shape when named.
A word about language, based on Leslie White’s anthropology: A symbol is a thing or event upon which we freely and arbitrarily bestow meaning. There is no “rhyme or reason” necessary to the invention of a symbol. A “tree” is a “tree” because we say it is. Certainly tall, long-lived, rooted plants that process chlorophyl and emit oxygen existed before we called them “trees” but naming them allows humans to think about them when away from their proximity, after they’ve died, and in a raft of other location-free connections and contexts.
Different language groups will use different word-symbols to refer to the same thing. What Sri Ramakrishna said about water is similar to the circumstances surrounding all word-symbols.
“The Reality is one and the same; the difference is in name and form. It is like water, called in different languages by different names, such as ‘jal,’ ‘pani,’ and so forth. There are three or four ghats on a lake. The Hindus, who drink water at one place, call it ‘jal.’ The Mussulmans at another place call it ‘Pani.’ And the English at a third place call it ‘water.’ All three denote one and the same thing, the difference being in the name only. In the same way, some address the Reality as ‘Allah,’ some as ‘God,’ some as ‘Brahman,’ some as ‘Kali,’ and others by such names as ‘Rama,’ ‘Durga,’ ‘Hari.’” (Paramahansa Ramakrishna in the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna, 134-5.)
That having been said, after creating a word-symbol, if the creator cannot induce others to use the word in the same manner, then the invention of the symbol has no fruitful outcome and its meaning may lapse. Mere invention of the symbol is only one part of the process. Winning acceptance for the word is another. Inclusion in a glossary is one way of spreading the usage of that word-symbol.
I invite those who invent new terms for post-Contact phenomena to send them in for inclusion in the glossary. I intend only to edit this glossary for a while. After that I intend to hand it over to a lightworker who is looking for a mission. I personally think being the keeper of the glossary would be pretty interesting and absorbing work.
This service is not meant to evoke competition or start light wars between people vying for the honor of being considered the originator of a term. If it results in flame wars, I will discontinue the service or perhaps exclude the people fighting from its coverage.
